Warwick Area Republican Committee
Endorsement Process
The committee welcomes any registered Republican to participate in the vetting process to seek the committee’s endorsement for public office.
We encourage qualified candidates to discuss their potential plans and desire to run for office with the committee, familiarize themselves with the duties and responsibilities of the office for which they seek endorsement, and to be prepared to commit to the work involved in the campaign process.
The committee requests that each candidate submit a letter of intent and resume to the committee detailing their desire to run for office, why they want to serve in that office, and a brief overview of their qualifications. Your personal and professional background along with your ties to the community are beneficial for the committee people to get to know you.
Once those documents are submitted, committee people will contact you to inquire about your positions, views, beliefs and values. Depending on the race, a questionnaire or interview may be conducted. Typically, in late January or early February, an endorsement meeting is held where each candidate seeking endorsement will make a presentation to the committee followed by a questions and answers session.
After all candidates for a given position complete their presentations, the committee votes to determine the endorsed candidate(s) and results are immediately announced.
Historically, this process has not been advertised in print. Going forward, announcements will be made on this website and likely on social media as well.
If you have any questions for the committee about the process or would like to discuss seeking endorsement, please contact us.
